Chapter 11

On the morning of Thusday, April 30 we woke up in a rest stop in southern Washington on Interstate 5 well rested and ready to go. After diving through an empty Portland, OR and searching for a donut shop that turned out to be closed, we headed for the coast and Seaside, OR on the beautiful Pacific coast.
After taking a couple of pictures including this cool Lewis and Clark statue commemorating the end of the trail, we left as the town was basically shut down.Heading south on PCH 101 was amazing!

After driving all day, we had worked up a bit of an appetite and decided to treat ourselves to some hot Mexican takeout in Florence, OR at this place.
And here is our kitchen table with the view in background.
We drove a bit further after dinner.

We ended our day at Bastendorf Beach watching a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
